FAQs

Can I supply my own drum head for my sick new graphic?

Sorry, we will only print and supply brand new heads for quality control reasons. Older skins may have marks and indentations that will cause problems. We know our product is the best on the market in Australia and we want to make sure when a head leaves our hands to go to the customer, that they are getting the absolute best.

What type of drum head do you use?

We use Evans, Remo or Aquarian drum heads so you know you’re getting top quality. These heads retail for $90-$120 (AUD) in the shops so you’re getting real value for money. Our relationship with the supplier means we can pass the savings on to you.

Will there be a difference in sound from my bass drum skin?

We use a single ply resonant head, so when the print is applied to the skin, it ends up sounding closer to that of a double ply head, a little bit fuller. What about playing live gigs? When your kit is miked up you will notice no difference whatsoever! The only difference will be the hordes of groupies tearing your clothes off afterwards.

Can you cut me a mic hole?

You know it! If you purchase a Drum ‘O’ Mic Hole Protector we will cut your hole for free, any where on your head. Once again for quality control reasons we will not cut cut a mic hole without applying a mic hole reinforcer.

Should I get the laminate on my skin?

The laminate is a protective film which will guard your skin from getting scuffed. Should you get it? Well that comes down to personal preference. If you think your skin may get scuffed when transporting your gear or from a boisterous bass player at a gig then yes you should. However if you have soft or hard cases for your kit and you instruct your band members to keep flailing extremities away from your drums then I wouldn‘t bother. Put it this way, I don’t have a laminate on mine and it still looks brand new. Also the laminate is glossy, so your skin will have a shiny look to it, which some drummers prefer, but may not be great for photography as you may get a light reflection. It is fairly expensive because we only use the highest grade laminate available. The cheaper laminates that some of our competitors use can cause changes in the colour of the prints and are also much thicker.

Can you print pictures?

We can print anything if the resolution is high enough. Colours, logos, photos, we’ll print a pic of John Howards’ favourite tea cosy if that’s what you’re into! We will let you know if there are any problems with your art and work through a solution with you prior to production.

I’ve got problems with my art – can you help?

What are mates for! We’ll fix small artwork issues for free. However if you need a design from scratch there will be a fee. Email us for our design rates.

What if I get cold feet?

You will receive a proof to sign off on before we go into production. Should you change your mind before we print there will be no charge and we will refund your money directly into your account. However the price of any design work we have done for you will not be refunded.

Delivery?

All heads are delivered in a pizza-style box so there is no risk of damage. Kustom bass Drum Graphics takes no responsibility for the heads once they have left our premises, however if you have paid by Paypal then you will be covered by insurance. Plus we only use registered post so you're double covered insurance wise.

Will your Kustom Drum Wraps damage the finish of my kit?

Absolutely not. Our drum wraps involve no use of adhesive (glue) whatsoever. In fact our drum wraps actually protect your kit. Should you choose to remove your drum wrap you will find your kit in exactly the same condition as before you applied the wrap. The wrap can be applied over your existing wrap, or in place of.

Are the drum wraps easy to install?

So easy a ten year old girl could do it. Full instructions are supplied with your wraps.

How do your drum wraps stack up against competitors?

We're not ones to blow our own trumpets, but the quality of our wraps exceed that of our competitors. Where others will sell you laminated paper to wrap around your shells, we use actual drum wrap material. It is more much durable and eliminates and "paper buzz" that can occur from using the cheaper paper wraps.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept Paypal or direct deposit.

Feel free to email us any other questions or queries you may have!
